Karen has been a licensed REALTOR since August 2010. Prior to this, she worked as an interactive designer for two of Hawaii's largest advertising and communications firms, StarrTech Interactive and Communications Pacific, gaining experience working with clients in the areas of finance, education, community outreach and the hospitality industry. Currently, she works as a Web Development Specialist at Kamehameha Schools' Kapalama Campus and continues to do freelance web and print design and development with her own company. Whenever possible, she tries to incorporate her hobby that she is passionate about, photography, into her work. Karen holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in English and has an Associate in Technical Studies from Kapi'olani Community College's New Media Arts program with a focus on Interface Design and Content Development. She was previously co-editor of the Kapi'o, Kapi'olani Community College's campus newspaper and has held internships at Pacific Resources for Education and Learning and StarrTech Interactive. Since an early age, Karen has been actively involved in the community volunteering at various charity events and has led her previous company's fundraising efforts for the Aloha United Way annual giving campaign. She has also done pro-bono work for numerous non-profit clients to help them gain exposure and promote their organization's mission. Karen enjoys working with and helping others in any way possible. She has great satisfaction knowing that what she has contributed to has helped her clients to achieve the success that they had hoped for.
